I hope everyone had a great Easter break – and a special shoutout to those who were on site during the period, ensuring that we continue to meet our customers’ needs. I know the team at Orebody 32 marked the occasion with a BBQ on site and some Easter treats, and it was great to see this camaraderie.
Over the past month, again we have submitted numerous tenders which will collectively contribute to future award and success. I have also been incredibly proud to visit some of our sites and catch up with our teams in person, seeing the dedication that goes into delivering exceptional results for our customers. We continue to have high levels of activity continuing across our sites and I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their ongoing commitment.
It was especially exciting to visit the team at CD3 in Port Hedland and see the Rubino crane mobilise ready for its first lift on site. This represents an exciting milestone for Monadelphous, brought to life through collaboration between our project and heavy lift teams. The Rubino is certainly impressive, with a load capacity of 1600t, a 42m radius, and a 90m boom, making it one of the largest cranes in the southern hemisphere. Importantly, it enhances our capability and helps us to self-perform, reducing reliance on sub-contractors.
I have also just returned from catching up with the Inteforge team in Vietnam, where they have settled well into their new office space. This is an important location for us as a base for Inteforge’s successful operations and project deliveries from Vietnam, strongly contributing to our long term operations in China. This includes supporting the supply and fabrication of the structural steelwork and pipe racks for a rare earths refinery project in Eneabba, which you can read about in this edition of the newsletter, along with the successful completion of the Prominent Hill project where I was lucky enough to see the final shipment being dispatched
Teamwork is one of our core values, and I strongly believe that collaboration between our teams and businesses helps us deliver the best possible outcomes for our customers. Cross-divisional teamwork was recently recognised between Inteforge and iPipe, a Chinchilla-based Monadelphous business, with the award of the M&IS Teamwork Baton. Together the teams have navigated some significant challenges since 2020, leading to the successful delivery of 459 skids to date – a combination of new builds as well as repurpose and refurbishments. You can read more about this partnership in this edition.
In a further outstanding example of teamwork on the CLAHDO project, after it was identified that multiple piles had been installed in the incorrect position due to a surveying error, collaboration between different projects and business units led to a timely resolution. This included communication and support from the CLAHDO, CD3 and Melchor teams, bringing together expertise to minimise the impact. I look forward to sharing more about this great example of collaboration.
Finally, it is important to me that we recognise the talent and depth we have within our business, and I was proud to announce internal promotions over the past month. This includes a new opportunity for Jarrod Chapman to step into the role of Commercial Manager – EC Projects. After 12 months doing an excellent job in this role, Hua Zhu is returning to the Mondium business where he will lend his commercial expertise to the completion of the CLAHDO Project. It is really pleasing to see talented people within our business have opportunities to grow their careers through internal promotion.
Until next time, please remember to stay safe and look out for one another.
