We’ve got a spring in our step following two major construction contracts being secured this month with Fortescue Metals Group for work at Christmas Creek and with Albemarle for work at Kemerton lithium hydroxide plant. A big congratulations to everyone involved in securing this work. They represent the first in a new wave of major construction projects to come to market, which is very exciting news for our team.
New work means new opportunities – whether you’d like to explore a different geographical region in Australia, work in a different sector or choose a roster that suits you better, there’s lots more to explore. Each venture is unique and longer-term contracts mean you can enjoy consistent work, should you choose, providing stability and an opportunity to expand your skills and grow your career. We encourage you to speak to your manager or recruitment if you have something specific, you’d like to explore. And remember, we’re always on the hunt for more people to join our team, so it’s time to call your mates and ask them to join the team too.
You can read more about some of these exciting new construction contracts in this edition of Around the Sites – don't be shy, you can leave us a comment while you’re there.
In this edition, you can also hear from our Engineering Construction Executive General Manager, Adam Cook, about what Early Contractor Involvement is all about and why we are participating in more than ever before.
On safety, you may have seen we’ve started rolling out our Fatal Risk Control Campaign, which aims to strengthen our approach to controlling potentially fatal risks within our workplaces. Over the next 12 months, you’ll have access to a series of resources and activities to help ensure you and your teammates make it home safely at the end of each day and swing. Please take the time to get involved and to continue to be vigilant about what you do.
Stay safe.
