Leadership Updates
2 Minute Read

As we are starting a period of high activity with a number of projects either secured or to be secured in the coming weeks, we expect to expand our team significantly. What we’ve learnt over the years is that good people (you!) know good people. Do you know somebody that would be a good cultural fit for Monadelphous and want to be a part of a winning team. We currently have vacancies for all trades roles, and we are looking into our next intake of apprentices, which includes mature aged apprentices who are keen to learn and grow their skillset with us. We also have a number of vacancies for staff roles in support of upcoming projects. Speak to our recruitment team to find out more.

We’re pleased to report our strong safety performance continues, aligned to our Finish Stronger campaigns across our projects. We must all remain focused and adequately risk assess our tasks, identify and manage change. There have been several devastating fatalities in our industry recently, which is a sobering reminder of the inherent risks across our industry. In case you missed it in your inbox, you can read a message from our Managing Director on our Life Saving Rules in this edition.  Over the coming weeks, we will be embarking on a review of our Fatal Risk process and validating that we are doing everything possible to protect our people from serious harm and share any initiatives across our sites.

On that note, we are always looking for new initiatives to roll out to keep our people safe and improve operational performance. Over the past six months, we have been exploring and trialing hands-off rigging options, to reduce the risk associated with loads, lifting and rigging activities. This process commenced with engaging riggers and supervisors to provide some initial feedback, coordinating trials on site using various hands-off aids and equipment. Watch this space for our formal hands-off rigging roll-out over coming months.

Now, let's see what is happening around the sites.

Mine Services Area (MSA) Project for Talison Lithium – well done to our team at Greenbushes for their efforts on the project, particularly in the last couple of weeks during a frantic handover period. The team lead by Mick Turner and Paul Corbett completed 170,000 hours and will be fully demobilised within the next week.

Car Dumper 3 for BHP – we continue to build momentum up in Port Hedland, which is great to see. You would have read about our progress in the last edition of Around the Sites, including the crane that was purchased to support the project. Project Manager, Brent Jones, is now working with his team in the lead-up to the August shutdown – which is rapidly approaching.

Lastly, you may have noticed this edition of Around the Sites looks a little different. We have taken on board your feedback and upgraded our newsletter website, meaning you can now keep up-to-date with news from our business, easily access our range of employee benefits and check out Monadelphous’ latest job opportunities. If you’re keen to hear what’s happening in other areas of Monadelphous, you can subscribe to their newsletters, so they are delivered straight to your inbox. This can be managed at the bottom of this email, just click on manage preferences.

Stay safe and look out for each other.
