Welcome to the latest edition of our newsletter, designed to keep you informed on what is happening around the sites.
Kicking off with safety. We have consistently had good performance across our projects and your efforts are not going unnoticed by our leadership team and our customers, well done and keep up the excellent work, particularly as some of our projects head into demobilisation phase which can be considered a high-risk period. We appreciate there can be a lot on your mind, so remain focused on finishing strong with both our delivery and safety performance – keeping yourself and your mates safe should always be our first priority.
Discussions on several new contracts continue to progress well, with final decisions on a number of opportunities imminent, including opportunities in the Pilbara and the Goldfields. We are preparing for two shutdowns at Tom Price for Rio Tinto and a shutdown for CD3 in August.
In the meantime, as some of construction projects start to wrap up, there may be a few weeks before our new and exciting projects kick into gear. We want to retain good people, so we encourage you all, if you have not already done so, to speak to your supervisor or the recruitment team about what’s next for you – we will do whatever we can to ensure we find the right projects for your next assignment. We are excited about the opportunities that await, which are just a few short week ahead.
One thing that sets us apart from our customers and competitors is that our people think differently – we don’t just complete the job at hand, we look for new and innovative ways to make our operations better.
A recent innovation we have been investigating is an automatic crane hook, with a 25 tonne capacity that allows you to hook on and release any loads remotely. The benefits of a device like this is it eliminates risks associated with rigging activities, such as working at heights and manual handling risks. Over the years, we have found many of our best ideas have come from our team in the field, which is why we are calling on you to share your ideas via our EC Innovation Awards. If you have a great idea to share, you can log it in MProve, email ECinnovation@monadel.com.au or speak to your supervisor. With a $10,000 award to the year’s best Innovation on offer, why not!
Now, let’s see what has been happening on the projects front:
Lastly, in the weeks ahead, we will be recognising and celebrating National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week. We encourage you to educate yourself and get involved in these activities in your area. It is important we engage with these initiatives as a part of our RAP (Reconciliation Action Plan) commitment, but more importantly, because it’s everyone’s responsibility to work towards a more inclusive society.
Stay safe, focused and informed and for those taking a break remember safety continues away from the site, keeping your loved ones safe is of course just as important.
Paul and Brett
