Welcome back to this edition of Around the Sites.
It has been a busy period on our sites with Kathleen Valley and Lynas Mt Weld ramping up, preparing for shutdowns on Christmas Creek and the train unloading (TUL) project, and preparing to mobilise to the Kemerton expansion and Chemical Grade Plant 3 project in the south west. We are also continuing shut works on the Car Dumper 3 project, whilst executing a small shutdown at South Flank.
The momentum we have experienced across the division in the last few weeks has been very positive with a number of announcements regarding new project awards. In this edition, we‘ll whip around our recent contract announcements to give you a sense of the diversity of work on offer and how we’re leading the way in building the future of the industry. A special mention to all the tendering teams who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to secure these important contracts, with additional tendering activity continuing apace.
With plenty of works secured to keep our teams busy for the foreseeable future. The level of teamwork across our project teams in mobilising to a number of sites and support functions have been excellent to see – you should all be proud of how you are handling the ramp up given the speed at which we have been asked to mobilise all while ensuring we are keeping our people safe.
You may have seen the exciting news that we recently welcomed Melchor Contracting into the Monadelphous fold. This will strategically expand our integrated service offering, further strengthening our position in the market by adding civil construction capability. We look forward to getting to know the team better in the coming weeks.
We recently announced the winner of the 2023 EC Innovation Awards. We were impressed by the outstanding innovations submitted, but only one can come out on top! You can read about this year’s winner The Plug and Play, and runners up a Stringer Stranger and Frana Gradient Alert here. These awards are a reminder of how innovative ideas can make a big impact on teams and projects around the division, resulting in a safer and more efficient workplace for us all. Hopefully this inspires you to submit your good ideas into MProve or speak to your supervisor. It could be you taking out the glory next year!
As head into the final months of the year there can be lots on our mind. We urge you to stay focused on the task at hand and keep safety front of mind. This is particularly important when we have new people joining our teams who will be looking to us to demonstrate The Safe Way is The Only Way.
Let’s finish the year we way we started it, with a strong focus on safety and delivery.
Until next time.
Paul and Brett.
