Congratulations to the team behind Plug and Play, who took the crown for the 2023 EC Innovation Awards, followed hot on the heels by the Heavy Lift team’s Franna Gradient Alert and the EC Project’s Stringer Strangler.
Winner: Plug and Play
Plug and Play Site Facilities was developed as a solution to the ongoing excessive hire costs and hours taken to set up a project.
The winning innovation makes the setup of site facilities such as crib rooms, ice rooms, training rooms, offices and IT containers onsite when a project is started significantly reduced in terms of hours worked and hire costs.

Runner up: Franna Gradient Alert
Runner up, the Franna Gradient Alert by the Heavy Lift team is the team’s second year in a row taking a top spot in the EC Innovation Awards.
Following an incident involving a franna rollover the team got to work on innovating a solution to keep people in frannas safer.

Runner up: Stringer Strangler
Runner up, the multifunctional clamping device, the Stringer Strangler is used to hold and clamp steel together in a new and improved safer way thanks to the Project’s team.
Inspired to take action after an incident where stringers were being put together, the team were committed to finding a safer solution, so they took to the whiteboard to brainstorm. After a few iterations and some site feedback, the stringer strangler was born.
