EC Presenting Yourself Powerfully

Written by Communications | 17 Dec 2024

Monadelphous recently invited leaders to participate in Presenting Yourself Powerfully workshops, facilitated by well-known television presenter and communication expert, Tina Altieri. The highly interactive workshop provided participants with actionable strategies to elevate their professional face-to-face communication, focusing on engaging audiences and influencing effectively.

Tina’s workshop focused on tackling real-world communication scenarios, offering tools to captivate, motivate and engage audiences.

Participants learnt how to build strong, logically supported arguments and discovered techniques to influence effectively, whether pitching ideas, delivering challenging messages or engaging high-level stakeholders.

Reflecting on the experience, EC Project Manager, John Skipsey noted the impact of shifting his mindset from simply delivering information to focusing on outcomes.

“Changing my focus to consider the audience and what I want them to know or do, was eye-opening,” John said.

The workshop also encouraged participants to embrace storytelling as a core element of presentations, as a tried-and-true method of capturing and holding attention.

“I’ll be focused more on telling the story rather than presenting facts,” General Manager EC Projects, Russell McBain said.

“Tina also showed us how to structure an introduction as an important way to drive positive engagement and we saw this put into practice by key speakers at our recent EC Town Hall."

Divisional HR Manager, Jacki Garland, shared her thoughts on the success of the workshops.

“The workshops received overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants, which highlighted the value of investing in professional development opportunities for our people," Jacki said.

“Tina’s expertise left a lasting impression, and we’re excited to be planning similar sessions in the new year."

If this workshop aligns with your development goals and would benefit you in your role, we encourage you to express your interest for the next round of sessions in 2025 by speaking with your direct manager or HR representative.
