Ergonomic Poly Weld Stands come out on top

Written by Communications | 30 Nov 2022

We recently highlighted how our Mining Area C Surplus Water Project team had been innovating a safer workplace with their ergonomic poly weld stands.

The innovative solution was not only celebrated internally and implemented across our sites, but has now been recognised at both the Western Australian Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety’s (DMIRS) Work Health and Safety Excellence Awards and the NSCA Foundation National Safety Awards of Excellence 2022.

At the Western Australian DMIRS awards, the team won the award for Best solution to a work health and safety risk (200 employees or more) with their ergonomic poly weld stands. These awards recognise outstanding solutions and innovations to specific workplace health and safety problems in Western Australia.

This year, the award was hotly contested with 71 submissions received and 36 companies recognised as finalists. An outline of all finalists and winners is available in the Work Health and Safety Excellence Awards 2022 booklet.

At the NSCA awards, the team took home the award for Best solution of a work health and safety risk (large business). These awards recognise outstanding work health and safety initiatives and celebrate organisations and people that actively promote workplace health and safety.
