Finishing strong, starting stronger

As the year ends and a new one begins, the challenges and distractions individuals face often reach their peak.

Recognising the potential risks associated with this period, a proactive initiative named the "Finishing Strong, Starting Stronger" campaign was implemented to support and empower individuals.

The campaign, strategically divided into three key phases - November's "Strategies to handle Christmas Stress," December's "Check On You & Your Mates," and January's "Reset and Refocus," aimed to address specific issues prevalent during the end-of-year period.

Each phase provided targeted information and valuable resources to guide individuals through potential pitfalls and ensure a smoother transition into the new year.

One significant aspect of the campaign was the engagement of Barry Hamilton, facilitator at Happiness Co. His expertise in delivering Healthy Mindset Talks across various sites added a powerful dimension to the initiative. Barry's sessions went into the intricacies of human behaviour, shedding light on how beliefs and values influence thoughts, feelings, and actions.

The key takeaway from Barry's sessions was the empowerment of individuals to proactively shape their mindset. Participants gained valuable insights into the art of consciously choosing happiness and learning techniques to start and end each day with a positive mindset.

The inclusivity of the campaign was evident in the emphasis on community well-being, as seen in December's theme, "Check On You & Your Mates." Encouraging a culture of support and camaraderie, this phase aimed to strengthen social connections to foster an environment where individuals could lean on each other during challenging times.

The positive engagement and collective effort demonstrated the success of the "Finishing Strong, Starting Stronger" initiative. With the lessons learned and strategies acquired, participants are well-equipped to face the upcoming challenges of the year ahead.
