When Moiselle Faulkner started at Yandicoogina as a Trade’s Assistant, she was excited to be part of a new adventure and experience something different.
After a few months at Yandicoogina, Moiselle was asked to relieve in the office for a week while the administrators were on break.
“I had been working in administration for a long time but found site-based administration to be very different,” she said.
“I was happy to take on the administration of a brand-new project at Ravensthorpe with Steve Holloway as Project Manager and later Paul Fishlock as Construction Manager. Being involved in the start of a new venture has many challenges, but seeing it all come to fruition and then successfully completed is a reward.”
Over the years, Moiselle has worked on 13 different projects, from Moranbah in the Queensland coal region, in South Australia, through to Marble Bar in the Pilbara. Each having its own unique challenges and experiences.
Currently, Moiselle is on her 13th project with Monadelphous at Iron Bridge, where she is Senior Site Administrator.
“My day-to-day role is never the same, and that’s one of the aspects I like about site work. There is always variety in my role and I get to meet people from all walks of life.”
“I do everything from timekeeping to travel organisation and the best part of it all is working with a strong supportive administration team,” she said.
“FIFO life can sometimes be exhausting and frustrating with lots of travel, delays and restrictions especially through those COVID years but it’s given me many opportunities to see and experience different parts of our country.”
Moiselle emphasises that the highlight of being on site is the people she gets to meet.
“I have loved getting to know the different characters that have come and gone from each site, and I treasure a lot of great memories from the projects over the years,” she said.
Outside of work, Moiselle’s priority is her family, including her three grandchildren.
“Being with family is the most important thing in my life and I savour every minute,” she said.
Moiselle also shares a passion for being a lifelong learner and has almost completed a Diploma in Counselling.
When she isn’t spending time with her family or studying, Moiselle loves to travel for pleasure and read, two of her favorite pastimes.
