Gudai-Darri celebrates first ore milestone

The Monadelphous team have assisted in the completion of the Gudai-Darri project which has now delivered its first ore. Due to our long-standing relationship with Rio Tinto, we mobilised on site to assist with the project.

The notice of award was given on 11 June 2021 for the contract consisting of Mine Miscellaneous Works and Commissioning Support which included the support for the following areas:

• Primary Crushing and Conveyor circuit through to the Course Ore Stockpile
• Screening and secondary crushing facilities with associated conveyors
• Conveyor systems through to the stockpiling area (including installation of Sample Station and conveyors)
• Conveyor system out to, and including the Train Load Out (TLO)
• Pump station pumps and pipework installations
• Water tank pumps and pipework installations

We initially mobilised 50 personnel for the project, which grew to over 600 in mid-April 2022 to assist on the project.

It has been a massive effort by all staff involved with all targets being consistently met by the Monadelphous team. This has enabled the team to hand over to commissioning.

We have now started the demobilisation process and still have 401 personnel on the project. The project is expected to be completed by early August.

This project has been great for Monadelphous and has continued to grow both our already strong reputation and relationships with our customers.
