There has been a lot of progress on our Mining Services Area (MSA) project since we last checked in with our team in the south west at Talison Lithium’s Greenbushes lithium project.
MSA is our largest non-process infrastructure (NPI) project, with the team currently constructing workshops, maintenance areas, refuelling and wash facilities for both the heavy mining equipment and light vehicles, to support our customer in growing their lithium operations.
Mobilisation took place in September last year and since then the team have maintained steady progress with the project now excitingly well over the halfway point and edging closer to completion. The team expect key facilities to be completed sometime in the next month, this includes the heavy machinery equipment and boiler maker workshop, pictured below.
The structural, mechanical, and piping side of the project is currently at its peak with the electrical scope still mobilising. Overall, there is currently just over 150 of our team working on the project.
Despite peak project numbers, the team have continued to maintain a strong safety performance throughout the duration of the project, Mick Turner, Project Manager attributes this to onsite team culture.
“We all really look out for each other and make sure that everyone goes home safe at the end of the day. Our field leadership team continue to actively promote Tinny Time to ensure we acutely share and celebrate both big and small wins on site.”
“It’s exciting to see the amount of progress we have made; the team should be really proud on how we’re tracking, like any project there are challenges, but It’s been great to see the level of teamwork displayed on site,” said Mick.
Well done to the team for their efforts to date – we look forward to checking in again at the end of the project!
