Our role in building the global lithium industry

Written by Communications | 31 Jul 2023

In good news, we can confirm we have secured another major construction contract with Albemarle, valued at approximately $200 million. The contract is associated with the expansion of the Kemerton lithium hydroxide plant in the south west region of Western Australia, and includes front-end pyromet structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works associated with two new lithium processing trains (trains 3 and 4).

The award follows the successful delivery of construction packages on trains 1 and 2, and the recently awarded long-term maintenance and sustaining capital projects contracts at Albemarle’s Kemerton operations.

Delivering this project, means we are playing a key role in Albermarle’s plans to double the capacity of their Kemerton operations, helping them advance their position as Australia’s biggest lithium plant owner and operator, and a critical player in the global lithium industry.

General Manager, Paul Fishlock, said this announcement is a true testament to the reputation we have built in the market as a tier-one contractor.

“This is an exciting opportunity for us, which came about from our previous impressive performance, where we delivered work safely, met the schedule milestones and received positive feedback from our customer on the quality of our works. We look forward to getting boots on the ground and continuing our ongoing relationship with the Albemarle team and playing our part in building the future of lithium industry,” said Paul.

Work will commence onsite later this year and is expected to be completed in the second half of 2025.
