Pluto T1 Mods crew deliver under pressure

Our Pluto T1 Mods Team demonstrated exceptional teamwork and resilience under pressure, earning them the EC Teamwork Baton Award for their rapid cyclone preparedness efforts.

When news of Cyclone Mitchell broke, the Pluto T1 Mods crew sprang into action. With the decision to commence full tie‑down received just 48 hours before site closure, every team member went above and beyond to make the site cyclone ready. Under pressure, they demonstrated exceptional teamwork, commitment and resilience to safely secure the site, completing a significant volume of critical work to protect our people, environment and facilities.

What stood out was the way the team came together and responded with urgency. This was a whole team effort, working closely with the client and supporting each other to get the job done. Crews took ownership across all areas of the site, working extended hours and staying focused on the task. The scaffolding teams in particular made a significant contribution, working tirelessly at short notice to complete critical tie‑down activities within tight timeframes.

The team also showed a strong sense of connection throughout the event. There were many examples of peer support and recognition, with the team backing each other in and working through the challenge together. That shared effort carried through the night and played a big part in how the team got through the event safely.

Following the event, the team took the opportunity to reflect and improve. They engaged with stakeholders, captured key learnings and have already implemented changes to strengthen readiness for future cyclone events.

This is a great example of what can be achieved when teams come together, act quickly and support each other when it matters most.
