Without injury or incident and ahead of scheduled handover to operations, enabling the plant to return to full production sooner than anticipated – that’s what we call a successful shutdown and one to be proud of!
The team at the South Flank Project recently completed a structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation (SMPE&I) shutdown on the inflow infrastructure.
Superintendent Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I), Padraig Flanagan commented “The team should be proud of their performance and ability to adapt to challenges that come our way. Some aspects of the scope of work were high risk, yet it was completed on schedule and most importantly without injury or incident.”
“COVID-19 impacted the workforce, and we were able to secure personnel for those positions with the help of the recruitment team which I’m grateful for because it helped ensure a quality outcome for the project.”
“This shutdown highlighted the expertise of our workforce and what we can deliver in short timeframes, so much so that we’ve been awarded another two shutdowns in June and July, with the latter being a major shutdown with a full crusher rebuild, something we have previously successfully completed,” said Padraig.
Well done to all involved in this shutdown for showing Monadelphous’ commitment to The Safe Way is the Only Way!
