We recently celebrated an incredible milestone – Tony’s 30-year Monoversary.
Tony began his career supporting project teams in roles including Projects Document Controller and Plant and Equipment Coordinator, gaining hands-on experience across multiple sites. Early on, he spent time at Bibra Lake managing divisional equipment and coordinating the receipt of materials and containers destined for project sites, laying the groundwork for the deep operational understanding he brings today.
From there, Tony moved into project roles as a Fabrication Engineer, contributing to a range of Engineering Construction projects alongside leaders such as Dave Burch, Daniel Kennedy and Chris Emer. His time on major projects, including the Dampier Port B Upgrade, Brockman, and multiple Cape Lambert projects, further strengthened his technical knowledge and insight.
In 2012, Tony took on a new challenge, moving into tendering at Monadelphous’ Victoria Park office. While it may not have been the path he initially envisioned, it’s one where he truly excelled. Drawing from his extensive project experience, coupled with his attention to detail and determination, Tony built his capability and is now leading some of the most significant and complex tenders in the business.
Tony is known for his disciplined approach and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes. A natural problem solver, he consistently goes above and beyond, often behind the scenes, and has even taken the initiative to teach himself additional skills like CAD and technical drafting to strengthen his contribution.
Tony is also a creature of habit, especially when it comes to food. Previously not a fan of travelling solo, he recently stepped outside of his comfort zone and embraced a work trip to Italy – and unsurprisingly, the food there met his approval!
And for those who have been around long enough, there’s also a classic early-days story involving Tony, a blue Holden Commodore, and a well-timed burnout outside the old Applecross office – quickly followed by a memorable reminder to keep those moments away from the front steps!
Tony’s contribution over the past three decades has been immense, and Monadelphous has benefited greatly from his dedication, capability and loyalty.
