Trent’s blueprint to success

Trent Murat’s love for learning has taken him from Graduate Engineer to Project Manager in no time.

Originally wanting to be a pilot he found himself instead fascinated by the mechanics of planes.

It was through his cousin, leading South-West Project Manager Kate Baker, who attended the Monos Grads program prior to him, that Trent was encouraged to join in 2013.

“I was lucky enough to be guided by good leaders at the grad program; training and development helped a lot in my journey,” Trent said.

Trent emphasised that among the various training and development programs at Monos, the Graduate Programs held the most significance for him.

“We’re a leading graduate employer in industry, which is a testament to the team and the work that they do behind the scenes,” he said.

Years later, Trent reflects on being promoted to Project Manager as one of his greatest achievements, attributing his positive mindset as the key factor that propelled him to that position.

“I always keep an open mind, try new things, jump at opportunities. I love what I do because I get to work with people who share my passion and drive,” he said.

“The sense of achievement you get when you are a part of a project from start to finish, is second to none.”

Trekking from the Pilbara to New South Wales and then to New Zealand, Trent acknowledges the undeniable value of the experiences and lessons he has gained. These learning opportunities stand as one of Monos' greatest strengths.

“The opportunities are everywhere. I’ve been able to work on so many different types of projects across many different locations, while being supported every step of the way,” he said.

“I get to meet and work with so many great people. We build strong, lasting relationships and there’s a genuine care about each other both in and out of work.”
