G’Day and welcome to the first edition of In the Loop for 2026.

I hope those who took some time off were able to rest and recharge. For anyone who worked through the Christmas and New Years period, thank you for your commitment and dedication.

I was recently in Morwell, Victoria with the BMC team presenting our inaugural ‘Quality in Action’ award.’ Everyday our people make decisions that directly impact the quality of what we deliver to our customers and this award recognises individuals who reinforce our values and our promise to our customers – ‘We rise to the challenge and deliver – the right way. Congratulations to Dylan as our first ever winner!

Disappointingly, we haven’t gotten off to a good start this year on the safety front – we need to make a conscious effort to raise the bar and raise our standards. When you’re completing tasks, take the extra few minutes to assess the situation – a bit of extra time on the job is better than compromising safety, remember The Safe Way is the Only Way.

Off the back of the Monadelphous AFL footy tipping comp, we’ve set up our own for East for the upcoming NRL season. If you’d like to get involved in a bit of friendly competition, sign up details can be found in this newsletter. Get in quick because there’s a big game in Vegas on 1 March.

Across our sites, we have started to roll out a combined Code of Conduct and Acceptable Workplace Behaviour training. This annual training promotes our unapologetically high standards for respectful behaviour, safety, integrity, and speaking up when something is not right. It reinforces doing the right thing, even when no one is watching, and builds trust within our teams, with customers and with community. It’s our daily actions and attitude that shape our culture and drive our success as a company.

Finally, we celebrated 20 years with our Operations Manager – Projects and Shutdowns, Martin Todman. Martin’s truly been everywhere (man). And congratulations Martin on your huge milestone!

Until next time, stay safe and look out for your mates!
