G’day everyone,
Welcome to the latest edition of In the Loop.
At the end of the 2023/24 financial year, we highlighted and celebrated some of the incredible innovations in our region. Read more about our innovations here.
On a divisional level, the Gladstone Operations team came home with the ‘Most Innovative Operation’ award at the M&IS Safety Awards. Well done to all involved.
We celebrated a win at the Weld Australia Awards in October, with our Gladstone operations team taking out the ‘Health and Safety’ category for their industry-leading welding safety measures. They have consistently demonstrated The Safe Way is the Only Way – congratulations to the team.
In NSW, the Mt Thorley team launched a dedicated training space, with a focus on verifications of competency (VOCs), essential for safety in high-risk roles. The launch of this reinforces our core value, The Safe Way is the Only Way.
Looking further east to PNG, we caught up with Jamie, who joined Monadelphous this year as an E&I QA/QC Admin and is thriving. Learn more about Jamie’s journey here.
Staying in PNG, we collaborated with the Santos Foundation (our customer’s not-for-profit) and donated a much-needed vehicle and equipment to a local school in the Southern Highlands. We’re proud to be part of the communities where we live and work, and we will continue to invest back into these communities.
Back in Brissie the team got together for the Monos Putt Putt Cup, some interesting putting techniques along with some bin chicken wrangling ended with a putt off between Teams Mirri, Kubbi and Barrar, with Team Mirri the eventual winner taking home the cup and bragging rights for the year.
Finally, I’d like to congratulate James who recently celebrated 10 years with us. We found James while he was working in a quarry and was ready for a change. We had him walking onto a dragline on his first day and he hasn't looked back since! Congratulations mate, here’s to another 10 years!
