The Mackay team is once again getting around ManUp!, a community-centric organisation at the forefront of prostate cancer education and support across regional and rural areas within Queensland and New South Wales.
The organisation was founded in 2010 by husband and wife, Brian and Jill Costello after Brian’s 2009 prostate cancer diagnosis. The couple identified a need for easier access to information, support and hands-on help. They were also determined to help create awareness about early detection and testing, particularly in regional and remote communities.
As part of our partnership with ManUp! Monadelphous is supporting their outreach campaign which will see the ManUp! team visit mine sites, regional and remote communities and corporates around the state.
“It is important for us to find ways to give back to the community and supporting Man Up! allows us to make an impact through education,” Monadelphous Mackay Manager Anthony Prestipino said.
“By supporting ManUp!, we’re helping to get the vital information about regular testing and early detection out in the community, which in turn we hope will impact the rates of the number one most common cancer diagnosed in Australian men.”
In 2023, Man Up! Visited 52 Queensland communities and travelled 76,000km to deliver their education programs.
