Meet Rachel Aston, a chemical engineering and business management graduate who has been making waves since she joined Monadelphous.

Rachel started at Monos as an undergraduate before working her way up to a graduate project engineer, and is now a superintendent in the fixed plant project team.

She has worked in different business operations across the east coast, earning experience in various industries, including alumina refining and coal mining.

"I spent a year and a half working on site in Gladstone before moving back to Brisbane for two months to work on a project at JBS Dinmore," Rachel said.

"I then transferred to the NSW Operations based in Mt Thorley, working with the fixed plant project team. It was here that I completed the graduate program and progressed into the role of project engineer."

According to Rachel, Monadelphous’ culture is characterised by teamwork and a willingness to share knowledge and experience. She believes this is what sets the company apart.

"The collaborative environment never leaves you feeling like you are working on your own. There are always people around willing to help and share their knowledge and experience," she said.

When Rachel isn't busy working, you can find her exploring the outdoors. She is an avid trail runner and has even participated in triathlons. She also loves to travel and has visited over 30 countries.

On a typical weekend, you'll find her at a park run on Saturday mornings, followed by coffee and breakfast. She enjoys anything outdoors, including hiking and beach trips.
