I was delighted to present the latest Teamwork Baton award to our BMC and iPipe teams for their efforts on the Eastern Gas Pipeline Reversal & Expansion Project. This project was an excellent example of a one team approach to leverage each of the businesses’ strengths, as well as great collaboration with the customer, Jemena along with their field and construction delivery business, Zinfra.
Procurement, fabrication and construction took place across three sites in two states, presenting some unique challenges. Together, the team proactively addressed these challenges and ultimately delivered the project successfully, receiving great customer feedback.
To simplify things from Jemena’s perspective, they started by putting a clear structure in place to provide a single line of management and single point of contact – Branch Manager, Brett Ryan, who also brought extensive understanding of both BMC and iPipe’s capabilities.
Teamwork allowed the businesses’ combined strengths to shine, including pre-mobilisation and construction readiness, as well as ongoing open communication with our customers.
When faced with execution challenges, the team was forward-thinking in addressing issues and ensuring prompt response to mitigate delays. Together, they responded swiftly by diverting resources to alternate work fronts that weren’t yet scheduled to occur. They then assisted in identifying and implementing solutions, acting promptly to mobilise the appropriate resources and maintain schedule.
I was able to present the baton in person at BMC’s headquarters in Morwell, Victoria. We were joined by Zinfra’s Project Manager Leon Terenyi who commended the Monadelphous team for their excellent performance – this project was a true testament to the value of teamwork.
Congratulations to the iPipe and BMC teams for a great demonstration of the importance of collaborating between our businesses to ensure we deliver seamlessly for our customers, as well as showcasing the diverse capabilities within Monadelphous.
