Last month, Monadelphous quality representatives attended the biennial Qualcon Conference and Workshops in Newcastle, NSW.
This year's conference theme was ‘Quality that makes a difference’ and emphasised the importance of quality in driving meaningful change across industries.
Monadelphous was represented by Saheed Afolabi, M&IS Divisional Quality Coordinator, and Mark Potts, Quality and Welding Manager, who joined their peers from across the country to explore emerging trends, challenges, and innovations in quality management.
“Gaining fresh perspectives from speakers on how quality management is being applied in their industries, the challenges they face and the innovative steps being taken to embed quality at every stage of delivery was a key highlight for me,” Saheed said.
“Attending events like these ensures the team keeps up to date with Australian industry best practice, which in turn supports delivery of customer outcomes,” Mark added.
With the application of artificial intelligence (AI), a hot topic across all sectors, the program included a session on the application of AI tools for quality audits and explored how they can be ethically integrated. This was further supported by a workshop on ‘The AI Advantage in Quality Audits’, which explored how AI is reshaping the landscape of quality audits, making them faster, more insightful and more efficient.
The key takeaway and reinforcing the theme was that quality isn’t just about meeting the requirements, it's about achieving tangible improvements and delivering what we promise to our customer.
