Happy New Year to you all!  I hope you all enjoyed some down time with family and friends over the festive period.  A special shout out and thank you to those who worked over the Christmas period, your hard work and commitment to the business is recognised and greatly appreciated.

It is very exciting to start the New Year with the announcement of our joint venture with Fagioli, a significant strategic growth opportunity for our business. The joint venture provides a full turnkey heavy lifting solution to the Australian market by unlocking increased capability and capacity to deliver significant resource projects in Australia. The Heavy Lift business will continue to serve our internal customers and external customers as normal with the joint venture providing an additional delivery option to service customer requirements which would benefit from the extended capability of both parties working in Joint Venture.

I want to congratulate the team for an excellent safety performance over the month of December and the first part of January with zero incidents reported. This result is particularly significant as the summer months often coincide with increased incidents. Congratulations to everyone on their efforts and focus over this period to keep everyone safe. We have had a few first aid incidents in the second  half of January, so let’s continue to share learnings and keep focussed.

On the 8th March we will recognise International Women’s day and this year’s theme of #BreaktheBias. There will be various events and materials available to support discussion across the business which I encourage you to get involved in.

In this newsletter, we shine a spotlight on two of our female crew members, Dakota and Tasha, who have received excellent feedback from the team and also from Fortescue Metals Group (FMG). Congratulation’s ladies, you are an inspiration!  We also showcase the CD1 project, successfully executed in conjunction with our Maintenance & Industrial Services (M&IS) division teammates, demonstrating the strength of our multi-disciplined teams and our values of, Teamwork, and an unrelenting focus to Achieve… a remarkable achievement for all involved.

I am proud to advise you that additional work has been secured at Iron Bridge which is a credit to the entire team who continue to perform exceptionally well on this project.

There is a significant amount of tendering activity across the Engineering Construction (EC) division at the moment and our Heavy Lift teams are actively involved in supporting our integrated multidisciplined team offerings in those tenders, as well as targeting heavy lifting and haulage specific scopes.  I am excited for the year ahead which is full of opportunities, and I am confident that by working together and keeping focussed on the safe execution of our work, we will continue to be successful in delivering our commitments.

Thank you everyone for your continuing dedication and hard work, together we continue to succeed and together we grow.

Stay safe

Lorna
