Alevro Awards

Congratulations to the Alevro team for winning both the CICA-judged award and the People's Choice Award in the category of innovation at the Crane Industry Council of Australia (CICA) Awards held in Adelaide over the weekend!

The prestigious Innovation Award celebrates products or methods that bring new, effective solutions to everyday challenges in the industry, while also having potential future applications. Our winning entry was for a bespoke synchronous jacking system developed for the Pluto Train 2 project. This innovative system provided superior control and precision, significantly reducing on-site installation time and ensuring safe, efficient operations.

The project involved the transport and installation of three massive compressor modules, each weighing 3,600 tonnes, as part of the expansion of the Pluto LNG facility. Alevro’s scope of work included transporting the modules via self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs) and installing them onto their foundations. The innovation lay in the use of 44 custom-designed climbing jacks, fabricated in-house, capable of millimetric accuracy. These jacks were synchronised by two power packs, allowing for real-time adjustments that ensured precise module alignment and safe load transfer.

The success of this methodology has achieved the client’s full endorsement, and they are now considering adopting it for projects globally due to its cost and time-saving benefits.

Rod Stribley, Alevro Joint Venture Manager, shared his pride in the team's accomplishment "At Alevro, we are committed to pushing boundaries and delivering innovative solutions to complex challenges. This recognition is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our people. A huge thanks to everyone involved in making this a success!"

We couldn’t have achieved this without the strong partnership and support from our valued clients, and we’re excited to see our innovative approaches being considered for future projects worldwide.
