We’re proud to share that Kylie Brown has been named a finalist in the Outstanding Operator/Technician/Trade Woman in Resources Award category at the 2025 Women in Resources Awards.
Presented by the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia, the awards celebrate individuals and organisations building a world-class industry that offers exciting career opportunities and boosts the recognition and participation of women in the sector.
Kylie’s journey in the industry began in 2011 when she made the move from Townsville in North Queensland to Newman in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. Trading the familiar for the unknown, Kylie quickly made her mark. In a significant career milestone, she became the first female superintendent in the crane industry in the Pilbara - a role that paved the way for other women to follow.
Throughout her career, Kylie has built a reputation as a leader who creates inclusive and welcoming workplaces. Her hands-on experience includes operating cranes, earning rigging qualifications, negotiating with clients, and developing a personal brand that reflects her professionalism and drive.
“It’s such a rewarding experience to talk to young females and help broaden their opportunities by showing them what’s possible within the resources sector,” Kylie said.
Kylie is also a key advocate for the Monadelphous Crane Operations Pathway Traineeship Program, where her leadership has made a real impact. She has supported the recruitment and retention of women in the program and mentored her team members.
Kylie’s recognition as a finalist highlights her leadership and her commitment to fostering diversity in the resources sector.
Congratulations, Kylie, on this well-deserved nomination! We look forward to celebrating your achievements.
