Continuing from last month's newsletter spotlighting Jon, Moh and John, we now turn our focus to some of our other integral members of the HL engineering team.

In this edition, we will be featuring Leo, Josven and Evie as they share insights into the milestones of their careers and their journeys with Monadelphous. 

Name and Job Title: Leo Thomas - Project Engineer  

Monos Tenure: June 2023 

Experience in HL Industry: 

  • Passion for heavy machinery led him to construction supplier Tutt Bryant. 
  • Worked as a Heavy Lift and Transport Engineer for two years. 

Background:  
Leo has a master's in mechanical engineering. 

Previous Roles: 

  • Tutt Bryant. 

Notable Experience: 

  • Gained valuable experience with cranes ranging from 20t to 1600t on projects such as Iron Bridge, Lithium Covalent, Gorgon Project, and BHP Ship Loader. 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities: 

  • Heavy Lift and Rigging Engineer tasks. 
  • Transportation and gantry lift studies. 

What they bring to Monos: 

  • Expertise in cranes, rigging, and heavy lift engineering. 
  • Experience with cranes ranging from 20t to 1600t. 
  • Exceptional quality and safe service for those requiring assistance in heavy lift and transportation. 

What they enjoy most about working at Monos:  

Working with a great team that has tremendous potential. 

 

Name and Job Title: Josven Capili, Engineer  

Monos Tenure: September 2012 

Experience in HL Industry:  

 With over 21 years of experience in the Heavy Lift industry, Josven has worked in sites located all over the world in locations such as around the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and South America. 

Background: 

Based in the Philippines, where secure career opportunities lacked, Josven chose to work overseas to broaden his horizons.  He first started as a Mechanical Engineer assigned on-site for construction of various projects related to oil & gas, power and industrial plants.  

Previous Roles: 

  • P Hyundai (HDEC). 
  • Mammoet. 
  • Sarens. 

Notable Experience: 

  • Extensive experience within the heavy lift industry. 
  • Familiarity with different systems, standards and policies used worldwide. 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities: 

  • The production and review of lift & transportation studies, calculations, procedures, and drawings.  
  • Liasing with co-workers, superintendents, supervisors and blue-collar team. 

What they bring to Monos: 

  • 21+ years of Heavy Lift and Transportation experience.  
  • 12 years of experience at Monadelphous as a Heavy Lift and Transport engineer. 
  • Passion for creating a positive work culture at Monos.

 Name and Job Title: Evie Tan, Project Engineer  

Monos Tenure: 2018 – Resource Officer and Project Engineer. 

Experience in HL Industry: 5 years.  

Background:  
She first partook in the Monos grad program, which led her to the heavy lift space. 

Previous Roles: 

  • Monadelphous – Graduate Program. 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities: 

  • Liaising with supervisors/site for information such as location, weight, available rigging, cranes and any client requirements. 

Why did you join Monos? 

  • Evie saw Monos as the opportunity that stood out to her as a university graduate. 

What the HL team offer: 

  • The team is big with a vast range of experience so the ability to assist with any issues/problems. 

What they enjoy most about working at Monos:  

Working with a team of like-minded individuals and the team dynamic.
