On the Wire

A message from your E&I leaders

Written by Communications | 6 May 2024

Welcome back everyone.

We recently had our International Women's Day panel serving as an important reminder of diversity and inclusion within our workforce. This year, the theme was "Inspire Inclusion," which was a great opportunity to reflect on the role we all play in doing this. You can also catch up on our special International Women’s Day social media series on LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.

Now moving onto Mongolia, our project continues to progress smoothly, now surpassing the 90% completion mark. As we shift our focus towards completions in readiness for commissioning, we remain steadfast in our commitment to delivering excellence.

In the E&I space, our Jansz project is off to a promising start, achieving a significant milestone with the completion of the first major lift being a substation extension - a pivotal moment as it enables the opening of electrical work fronts.

We are prioritising our tendering and estimating efforts to secure a steady pipeline of future projects, ensuring continuity for our workforce. Stay tuned for updates as we announce the outcomes of these efforts and unveil new projects on the horizon.

Meanwhile, our operations in Gladstone continue to go from strength to strength. Over the past few weeks Joel Gennings our Manager - Gladstone Operations undertook his annual charity fundraiser for Variety Jet Trek 2024, a testament to our ongoing commitment to community engagement and support.

Welcome everyone to this month’s edition of On the Wire. If you were lucky enough to get a nice break over the Easter period, I hope you enjoyed it and for those who were working through, thank you for keeping the machine working whilst the fortunate got a break.

Onto the project front, the Kathleen Vally team is well into the construction verification stage and are giving all positive indications of a strong finish. The quantity cable they had to install over the last three months would have been baulked at by a lot of people however, Craig and his team have ground out this task under very challenging circumstances.

The TUL Project located at Port Headland’s Anderson Point for Fortescue are in the final stages of construction for the new sample station. They will finish this package over the next few weeks and move into the planning phase for a shutdown scheduled in for July.

The Car Dumper 3 (CD3) team are currently planning for their Nelson Point and South Flank shutdowns whilst also getting ready to delve back into their original scope on CD3.

Over to Christmas Creek, they are transitioning into stage 2 and 3 commissioning which now introduces several addition hazards with power being introduced into the systems. They will methodically work through the energization and commissioning process with their vendors to ensure a safe successful outcome.

Down to Bunbury where the E&I team are working with the client on the Kemerton lithium project to best identify the most efficient scopes of work to execute whilst the markets dictate unfavourable conditions for the commodity being processed.

From Bunbury we cruise across on the highway to Greenbushes where the mobilisation for the CGP3 project is in full swing. A steady ramp up over the next four months will see the project hit its peak maintaining it into the new year. There is also a trial of a generator battery hybrid system being installed this month on the office complex to assist with data collection and another step to Monadelphous net zero target.

Over to Gladstone, where the team continues to tick along, successfully delivering for their regular customers. I spent a week with them recently and it was great to see the return of Adrian DeDaunton who has been on a hiatus from MEA for the last few years. His experience and skillset will further strengthen the Gladstone team as they continue to grow.

That’s all for this month, stay safe.
