14 years ago, Kevin McGarry joined Monadelphous as a Senior Estimator, today he is the Estimating Manager in Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) – it’s a winning job.
Originally from Ireland, Kevin has been the Estimating Manager for almost eight years now and plays an active role in both the tender process and projects.
“I’m involved in tender kick-off meetings, tender coordination and review meetings, to name a few things and I get time to estimate as well.
“I have a great team that I work with and it’s a small team, however it’s a close knit one, and we rely on one another during the busier times.
“Tendering is always a changing field which means every day and every tender is different, it’s great when we win work because we can see the outcome of our hard work,” said Kevin.
When Kevin isn’t at work, he enjoys travelling and staying up to date with the latest in technology.
“When I get some free time, I try to tinker with internet of things, devices like different gadgets and automation systems.
Travel is also high on the list for Kevin who is keen to get back to Ireland to visit his family.
“I like to travel, not so much the last couple of years but I’ve got itchy feet and I’m keen to get back home for a visit.
“I’ve also always wanted to visit Iceland, it’s a place that has always fascinated me, so I think that’s next on my bucket list to visit,” said Kevin.
