In November, we proudly celebrated Kevin's outstanding 15-year milestone with Monadelphous.
Over the years, Kevin has been a key contributor to our success, transitioning into the role of Estimating Manager in Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I).
“I will have been with Monadelphous 15 years in November, which has flown by. I started back in 2008 as a Senior Electrical Estimator and over 8 years ago became the E&I Estimating Manager,” Kevin said.
As the Estimating Manager, Kevin's day-to-day responsibilities involve overseeing the details of tendering processes. From kick-off meetings to tender coordination and review sessions, he brings experience and knowledge of the industry to ensure the success of each project.
“I started as a Senior Estimator when MIE was first introduced to the WA market. I have been involved with numerous tenders and projects,” Kevin explained.
Kevin values the close-knit nature of the E&I team, emphasising the importance of collaboration within his team. For him, the dynamic field of tendering adds an exciting element to his role. The thrill of winning projects is proof of the team's commitment and hard work, and Kevin takes pride in seeing their efforts come to life.
“Tendering is always a changing field which means every day and every tender is different. When we win work it’s great, as we can see all the hard work the team has been involved in,” he said.
“Working in the mining industry is an incredible opportunity. One of the best parts is witnessing the construction process of a project, from start to finish.
“Knowing your work is making a difference and sustaining the employment of others is truly rewarding.”
Among Kevin's favourite memories at Monadelphous, his most memorable is the Wheatstone Servies project.
“I really enjoyed working on the Wheatstone project as I had a diverse range of responsibilities throughout, specifically engineering and estimating project delivery,” he said.
As Kevin reflects on his career, retirement is on the horizon. While he looks forward to spending more quality time with family and friends, travelling is something he looks forward to the most.
“My next trip to Japan is booked, and I can’t wait! It’s been on my list for a while now, so I’m excited to get out and explore a new culture,” Kevin said.
In his downtime, Kevin enjoys keeping up with the latest in technology.
"When I get some free time, I try to tinker with the Internet of things, devices like different gadgets and automation systems,” Kevin said.
As we congratulate Kevin on his remarkable milestone, we thank him for his dedication and contribution to Monadelphous over the years. Here's to 15 years!
