As construction gathers pace on the Lotus Creek Wind Farm in Central Queensland, our Australian Power Industry Partners (APIP) team is helping connect one of Australia's next generation renewable energy projects to the grid.

Working for our renewable energy business Zenviron for the end client CS Energy, the team is currently erecting steel monopoles in preparation for conductor stringing across a challenging line route. With difficult terrain and spans exceeding 900 metres, the project demands careful planning, specialist expertise and innovative solutions.

For APIP, projects like Lotus Creek create opportunities to find safer and smarter ways of working.

The team has embraced new technologies, including drone-assisted stringing preparation, which would normally be undertaken by helicopter and minimises exposure to high-risk tasks. APIP is also drawing on proven innovations from outside the power industry to improve work practices and enhance project delivery.

Nathan Roach, APIP Operations Manager, said the project showcases the specialised capabilities APIP brings to Australia's growing energy infrastructure sector.

"High-voltage transmission infrastructure plays a critical role in connecting renewable energy projects to the grid and delivering electricity safely and efficiently over long distances," Nathan said.

"Projects like Lotus Creek allow us to combine our technical expertise with innovative technologies to improve safety outcomes while delivering complex transmission line construction works."

Since joining the Monadelphous group in late 2025, APIP has continued to strengthen its specialist transmission and distribution capabilities while sharing knowledge across the broader business.

Grant Tonkin, Manager, Operations and Support Services, said Lotus Creek is another example of how APIP is helping support Australia's energy transition.

"The work being delivered at Lotus Creek demonstrates the depth of expertise within APIP and the value of bringing specialist transmission capability into the Monadelphous group," Grant said.

"By combining innovation, collaboration and a strong focus on safety, our teams are delivering critical infrastructure that will support renewable energy generation for years to come."

With pole erection progressing and conductor stringing activities ahead, the project is a strong example of how skilled people, specialist equipment and innovative thinking are helping deliver the infrastructure needed for Australia's energy future.
