Our teams at South Flank showed that teamwork gets the job done by completing another major shutdown with zero loss of production time and importantly injury free.
As a testament to the expertise and skill of our workforce, the team closed out outstanding design and punch list works and finalised handover of the inflow and outflow projects to operations.
Consisting of electrical, structural, mechanical and piping disciplines, the work scope covered major shutdown works to all stackers and reclaimers, primary crushers one and two and major upgrades and miscellaneous conveyor and building scopes.
Senior Project Manager Steve Holloway commended the team for working together and getting the job done.
“Teamwork was key in 2022 as we proudly and safely delivered 18 shutdowns within allocated time windows for our customer at South Flank,” he said.
“We were onsite for the duration of 2022 and had a permanent site team of 30 employees which was upscaled during scheduled shutdowns, reaching just over 160 people onsite.
“Our heavy lift team played a significant role during the shutdowns in supplying 400 tonne and 250 tonne cranes, riggers and operators, completed critical lift studies for the project, and transported crusher components around site.”
“The expertise of our heavy lift team ensured we could deliver, and I’d like to thank those involved for making that happen,” he said.
“In the last shutdown in December, we completed the final mechanical and electrical scope on the stackers and reclaimers, marking the end of a significant set of shutdown projects that we’re proud to have been a part of,” he said.
