Last week, we announced we had secured a two-year extension on our existing contract with Rio Tinto to continue providing mechanical, electrical and access maintenance services for fixed plant shutdowns at its Gove operations in the Northern Territory.
Monadelphous was first awarded a three-year contract back in 2020 to complete multi-disciplinary maintenance support services, shutdowns and minor capital project execution.
If you’re not familiar, the Gove Peninsula is located at the north-eastern corner of Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory of Australia, more than 600 kilometres by air from Darwin.
Since then, our Darwin team has successfully completed 17 shutdowns on site with no recordable injuries.
M&IS Energy Superintendent, John Gscheidle said securing this work is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team.
“We have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from our customer on this project as the team continue to respond to their needs and deliver great outcomes.
I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve in the next phase of our work at Gove,” he said.
