Welcome to your July edition of Ramp Up.
This month across Monadelphous we celebrated NAIDOC Week 3 – 10 July to recognise the history, culture and achievement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. During the week we also launched our fourth Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and second Stretch RAP, which is a significant milestone in our reconciliation journey. The Stretch RAP is our commitment to embedding reconciliation initiatives into our business strategies so that they become ‘business as usual’ – including providing long-term employment and training opportunities to First Nations people, supporting Indigenous owned businesses and establishing meaningful partnerships.
Each of us has a role to play in our ongoing commitment to reconciliation so it was great to see our teams coming together to celebrate NAIDOC Week and our Stretch RAP launch on-site.
Some of our team members were also recently involved in a unique industry collaboration led by Woodside to create a state-of-the-art offshore caisson cleaning and inspection tool. The innovative solution incorporates a human-sized robot and allows for safe remote inspection of critical equipment on offshore platforms. This is a great demonstration of teamwork and collaboration across multiple businesses to achieve real improvements. You can read more about it in this edition of Ramp Up.
Also in this edition, read about how people across Monadelphous have pushed themselves for mental health awareness, find out more about our RAP launch and get to know John Ledo, Superintendent at our Darwin operations.
Until next time, please stay safe and well.
Doug.
