Bringing our Oil and Gas leaders together

Recently, we’ve brought together, in person, our Oil and Gas leaders via a number of Leadership and HSR forums to continue to build on our strong relationships and positive culture.

Leading Oil and Gas together

Optus Stadium usually plays hosts to epic battles for sporting glory, or you may hear thousands of voices belting out their favourite song for a musician, however it was a coming together of minds that the stadium played host to for our Oil and Gas leaders.

Approximately 120 supervisors and leaders from across our Oil and Gas business gathered to share insights, network and learn from each other at two two-day Leadership Forums held at Optus Stadium. Attendees provided positive feedback about the event’s value, the topics covered and the opportunities to discuss ideas. Attendees were treated to a captivating discussion on future plans, with a strong emphasis on the importance of leadership in building a positive culture by General Manager – Oil and Gas, Doug Macintyre, and Executive General Manager – M&IS, Alastair Reid, leading the way.

Strengthening our safety culture

Just a bit further down the road at Aloft Hotel, was another opportunity for our Oil and Gas team to come together, this time our Health and Safety Representatives (HSR).

The HSR’s took the opportunity to discuss the Oil and Gas business’ recent health and safety performance and heard about the abundance of personal development courses available to them through Monadelphous.

Throughout the day, attendees heard from General Manager – Oil and Gas, Doug Macintyre, who provided an update on the Oil and Gas business unit, while HSR, Daniel Jones, gave an exciting glimpse into a day in his life as a HSR and the role he plays at Monadelphous.

All attendees were then taken through some recent incidents and helped review these as an opportunity to learn about how they were responded to and handled.

To add to the day’s value, the Happiness Co. was present to share insights on self-development and growth, and a guest physiotherapist spoke about the importance of injury prevention. The Forum was brought to a close with a networking session where attendees had the chance to debrief on the day’s discussions and establish new relationships.

Our next HSR forum will be held on Friday 5 May, and we look forward to another successful gathering of leaders from across Oil and Gas.
