This winter, from 17 June to 19 July, we welcomed 11 bright undergraduate students to our Winter Internship Program at Monadelphous.
These students came from different study backgrounds, including mechanical, electrical and civil engineering, and accounting. They rolled up their sleeves and got hands-on experience with a range of teams at our Victoria Park office, Melchor, and project sites.
Abbey Chapman, one of our engineering interns, worked closely with the M&IS Energy team and shared a little about her time.
"Over the course of the internship, I gained valuable engineering experience across a variety of areas. I learned so much through my involvement in different projects and received incredible support from my managers and peers," Abbey said.
The students worked full-time throughout the internship, building up essential engineering and accounting hours and immersing themselves in real-world projects. This intensive experience not only contributed to their academic requirements but also helped inform their future career aspirations.
We're looking forward to welcoming five of our interns as casual undergraduates or participants in our upcoming Vacation Program this summer.
Early Careers Manager Ann Brinkamp said the Winter Internship Program is a great example of our commitment across the business to education, diversity, and innovation in the industry as we nurture the next generation of talent.
"This internship program will provide valuable experiences for future leaders," Ann said.
"It's a really exciting way to engage talent early in their careers and expose them to the opportunities for learning and growth within Monadelphous."
Although our Winter Internship is now closed for 2024, applications will open in March for our 2025 program. If you want to refer a suitable candidate, contact Hayley Black at (08) 6311 1046 or email graduates@monadel.com.au. You can also visit our TalentHub to refer a candidate.
