In the past two years managing operations at Gove, Superintendent John Ledo has seen the local team grow.

John looks after operations and shutdown works and said that his role provides him with both autonomy and plenty of support.

“I work in the planning and labour engagement space for shutdown scopes at Gove and oversee the estimating and planning for minor capital works,” he said.

“I also assist with day-to-day operations in the Darwin branch which keeps me pretty busy, but I really enjoy being part of the team here.”

He said that the growth over time has also been fantastic to be a part of.

“Originally there were 20 mechanical trades on the shuts and now it is up to around 80 people per shutdown,” he said.

“It has become a significant operation that incorporates rope access, scaffolding and mechanical trades.”

When he is not at work, John enjoys the Darwin lifestyle and spends his time fishing, riding his motorbike and working around the house on his ongoing house renovations.

Monadelphous has had a presence in the Northern Territory for two decades, first engaged in work at Gove as part of an optimisation project managed by our Engineering Construction team. Read more about what we do in the NT here.
