Happy 50th birthday to us

50 years ago, in Kalgoorlie, the epicentre of Western Australia’s mining boom at the time, our once small Company was established. 

2022 marks a very special year for Monadelphous as we reach 50 years in operation. Built by our people, past and present, we have been able to create a business that our customers trust and rely on, our teams are proud of and our local communities want to work with and our competitors’ envy.

We have come a long way since being established back in 1972 – changing our name from Contract Engineering Associates to Monadelphous, listing on the ASX in the mid-80s, organically growing and diversifying into a broader range of industries, such as oil and gas and renewables, expanding our footprint overseas into countries like China, Chile, Mongolia and Papua New Guinea, and establishing a number of strong subsidiaries and joint ventures that continue to contribute to our success today.

Managing Director, Rob Velletri said although we have grown significantly, our people and our values remain at the heart of how we work.

“Of all the accomplishments we have achieved over our 50-year history, the most satisfying achievement is the development of a team of people with a team spirit and unrelenting sense of purpose that is the envy of many organisations. This is what has driven our success to date and helped us realise our potential, so thank you for playing your part in our proud history.

“With these strong foundations, and a magnificent team of people, we will continue to grow and diversify our business, we will continue to deliver large and exciting projects for our customers, and we will continue to build on our reputation as a leading engineering contractor in our industry.

“Thank you for your support over the years, I look forward to celebrating with you throughout the year,” he said.
