Meet Lee Clark

We recently had a chat to Lee Clark, Blast & Paint Supervisor at the Karratha Gas Plant about his role and being part of the Karratha community.

Lee Clark has been with Monadelphous for seven years, working as a supervisor for the last three years with the blast and paint team. His current role involves resource estimating and he said that he enjoys the challenges and opportunities he gets from his work at the gas plant.

“I’ve had some great opportunities with Monadelphous, having joined the first blast and paint team here and have gotten to see a lot of growth during my time here,” he said.

“A lot has changed in the blast and paint team – we don’t do blasting as much anymore which eliminates a lot of the dirty work and we changed a lot to rope access as well, which is exciting and challenging.”

Lee said that he was looking forward to future challenges within the oil and gas team, with opportunities for growth to keep him and the team on their feet.

Lee first came to the region after travelling around Australia with his now wife in 2008, where he soon found work and settled in. 14 years later, Lee and his wife are now raising their young children and cemented within the local community.

“There’s a good crew up here and a good work-life balance which means we can be involved with the community,” he said.

“The flexibility that Monadelphous offers with a nine-day fortnight is great for myself and my young family.

“With time off, if we aren’t at sports we are out on the boat, camping, fishing and diving – living the good life. We like going out to the islands which is awesome, as there are a few hidden secrets out there.”

Lee said it is important to him to keep the family active and involved with sports and their community.

“There’s always something to do and I think it’s great for the kids to be involved in sports,” he said.

In his spare time he is hands-on with junior sports, coaching the girls under 9’s soccer as well as the rugby league under 7’s.
