Recognising our women

Written by Communications | 5 May 2025

International Women’s Day was celebrated with much enthusiasm at Monadelphous' ILNG site in Darwin, where the achievements of our incredible women were recognised with awards.

Over the past weeks, employees had the chance to nominate their colleagues who made a difference, whether through big or small actions. It was a moment to come together and highlight the remarkable impact women have in all roles across the business.

Nicole Mills, Senior HR/IR Advisor, shared that while it was impossible to recognise everyone, three stand-out individuals received special recognition for their contributions.

The Leading the Safe Way Award went to Chyna Mayo. This award celebrates those who define the behaviours that help maintain a strong and sustainable safety culture. Chyna's efforts in achieving leading health and safety performance were lauded as an inspiration to all.

Next up was the Young Achiever Award, which recognises a Trainee or Apprentice who has made a positive impact and aligned with Monadelphous values. Liana Wittwer, an Intermediate Rigger, took home this award for her outstanding work and dedication, truly embodying the spirit of a young achiever.

The final award of the day was the Leadership Award, given to Mirandah Perkins (MJ), an Electrician, for her leadership capabilities. MJ has supported her peers through active listening, effective communication, and a people-first approach, demonstrating what it means to lead by example.

The celebrations didn’t stop there, though. Louise Waddell, Work Pack Coordinator, won the Making a Difference Award at the INPEX International Women’s Day event.

This award recognises women who have gone above and beyond to have a positive impact either in the workplace or in the community. Louise, who coordinates the Work Pack function and leads a team of seven, has made a significant impact by empowering her diverse team and driving efficiency across the board. Her well-deserved win was a proud moment for the entire Monadelphous team.

Other Monadelphous employees, including Kylie Hewitt, Leah Gordon, Mirandah Perkins, and Veena Thankachan, were also nominated for the prestigious INPEX IWD Awards, showcasing the incredible talent and leadership within our organisation.

These awards serve as a reminder of the powerful impact women have on our workplaces and communities. We are proud to celebrate these inspiring women who continue to make Monadelphous a place of growth, leadership, and safety.
