Welcome to our new ILNG apprentices

Written by Communications | 5 Mar 2026

Our ILNG team recently welcomed four new apprentices, following a recruitment process that attracted more than 300 applicants.

After a thorough selection process, two Mechanical Fitter apprentices and two Dual Trade Electrical Instrumentation apprentices were offered positions.

Savvas and Mickayla have commenced in Dual Trade Electrical Instrumentation, while Chelsea and Seth have started as Mechanical Fitter apprentices.

Each demonstrated the right skills, attitude and a clear interest in building a career in their chosen trade.

The group officially began on 9 February and have already completed their first few weeks on site.

So far, the focus has been on safety and PPE requirements, inductions and understanding how the plant operates. One of the early takeaways has simply been the scale of the facility.

They have also started meeting the teams they will be working alongside and have been assigned buddies and mentors to support their transition into site life.

Over the next four years, the apprentices will complete a structured program that includes on-the-job learning, work placements and trade school.

The aim is to ensure they achieve all required competencies and gain practical experience in a world-class LNG environment, learning from experienced tradespeople.

On completion of their apprenticeships, they hope to qualify in their respective trades, build job security and pursue ongoing opportunities within the business.

The recruitment process involved collaboration from teams in Perth and on site, with strong support across the business to bring the new intake on board.
