Leadership Updates

Welcome to the latest edition of The Fix.

In this edition, find out more about the Port Hedland School Traineeship Program – we're extremely proud to be having a positive impact on the future of young talent in the region. We’ve had 10 students over the last four years, and each of them has been provided with a personal toolkit to foster independence in their roles. We caught up with Dean Marlow, Project Manager to learn more about the benefits and outcomes of the program so far.

In July, Monadelphous was a proud sponsor of Port Hedland’s Spinifex Spree Carnival – an annual family-friendly event, and one of the longest running and largest community events in town. We are an active member in the community, with a focus on operating in a responsible way, caring for our people, the environment and society, to leave a positive legacy in the communities we live and work.

August was a busy month for the region, with the Gap Ridge opening event in Karratha, and the Tom Price Careers Fair. The Tom Price Careers Fair showcased a range of careers in an engaging way across a range of industries. The event was a great opportunity to connect with the local community, inspire the next generation and promote our local operations.

I’d also like to congratulate the most recent Teamwork Baton recipients, the Hawser Rail Upgrade team, who successfully completed this project at Cape Lambert to upgrade 32 dolphins across the two wharves. Well done to the Hawser Rail upgrade team on consistently demonstrating our commitment to safety and working collaboratively with our customer to deliver results.

Finally, a massive congratulations to the Hedland Reds who took out the West Pilbara Junior Football League premiership across two divisions for 2024. We’re proud to support such a dedicated club - shout out to our Port Hedland Construction Manager Craig Turner, and Kristy Turner our Port Hedland Senior Site Administrator, for working tirelessly with the club and giving back to the community. The teams played with heart and have shown commitment and resilience throughout the season. Well done to everyone, and commiserations to the Dampier Sharks. We’re excited to see what next season brings!

As we rapidly approach the last few months of 2024, please remember, as always, to keep yourself and others safe.
