The Fix

Another step in our reconciliation journey

Written by Communications | 30 Nov 2022

This year, we launched our latest Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 2022 – 2025. This launch marked our fourth RAP, and our second Stretch RAP, which is a significant step in our reconciliation journey.

Mining and Minerals North West Region General Manager, Nick Raffan, said a commitment to progressing RAP initiatives form an important part of our strategy.

“One of the actions from the current RAP is to demonstrate respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples by observing cultural protocols, so to support this action, we installed customised Acknowledgement of Country plaques at each of our four regional facilities in Port Hedland, Karratha, Tom Price and Newman,” he said.

“We have used this as an opportunity to ensure each of our facilities has their own specific Acknowledgement of Country messages to be used at the commencement of meetings and events as well as providing copies of our RAP at each reception area for employees and visitors to read.

“We are always looking for opportunities to improve cultural awareness as we continue on our reconciliation journey, and I look forward to being able to share more good news stories with you as we progress.”
