This March we marked two important events that celebrate diversity and inclusivity in the workplace – International Women’s Day and Harmony Week.
Across Monadelphous we celebrated International Women’s Day on the 8th of March, a global day to reflect on the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.
This years’ theme was #EmbracingEquity and some of our teams got together to discuss this topic.
Equity recognises that each person has different circumstances and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome. The graphic below is a great way to understand the concept of equity.

We also celebrated Harmony Week across the Maintenance and Industrial Services division, from the 20th to 26th of March.
Harmony Week is an annual celebration of Australia’s cultural diversity, promoting inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone, regardless of their background.
This year’s theme was ‘Everyone Belongs’ and some of our teams got together to share food from different countries or celebrate over barbeques on-site.
