On what has been the biggest project to date for our Tom Price team, we celebrated a significant milestone in March with the first iron ore being processed on the 11CM Conveyor.
Operations Manager Pete Eddy said that this is a huge project and great success story for the team.
“The team completed the fabrication and installation of the conveyor in Tom Price in an accelerated timeframe and with an outstanding safety performance,” he said.
“This is a credit to Glen Edwards, Daniel Hawke and their team and really showcases their dedication and talent.
“They also worked with the Monadelphous Heavy Lift team for part of the work, leveraging the wider capabilities within our business.”
Project Manager Daniel Hawke congratulated everyone involved in reaching this milestone – one that he said felt like a long time coming.
“Last year when we first mobilised, reaching this stage may have seemed far away – and it hasn’t been without its challenges,” he said.
“Throughout the life of the project, it has been nothing short of inspiring to watch a team assembled from several areas of the business coming together to overcome challenges and to reach a common goal.”
Daniel said that there is still some work ahead to reach project completion but that the team’s “all-in” attitude is what continues to drive success.
“There are too many notable individual efforts to mention, but the teamwork has been excellent and everyone deserves to feel proud,” he said.
Area Manager Glen Edwards said that the delivery of the 11CM Conveyor project highlights how much the team has grown in recent years.
“A few years back, the team was working on smaller maintenance projects and they have been able to successfully transition to larger sustaining capital works, with the backing and confidence of the wider business,” Glen said.
“The success of this project has provided the customer confidence in our local team and I am looking forward to the further opportunities this has created.”
