As part of the ongoing maintenance contract with Fortescue, our project team are carrying out major upgrades to the Fire Detection and Suppression Systems at the Chichester Hub which are approaching the end of their operational life.
This multidisciplinary style of work allows us to showcase our varied capabilities throughout the project, as well as strengthening our relationship with the customer, which has now developed into a full program of works.
At Christmas Creek, assessments have flagged several fire water storage and distribution networks in need of replacement or enhancement. Monadelphous has so far been awarded four of these upgrade areas.
Stage one of the project commenced earlier this year in March, across two designated zones, and reached completion in July. Work on the remaining areas is progressing sequentially, with final upgrades across all four locations scheduled for completion in 2026.
“This project has had its complexities. We can’t turn the fire water systems off completely, but we still need to remove and upgrade large sections of the fire water system and pumps,” Project Lead Kish Morar explained.
“Navigating the complexities has continued to build the strong connection and trust we have with the customer, and its adding to Monadelphous’ capabilities.”
