Our Mining & Minerals North West team will soon be kicking off an exciting new venture with the recent award of the Fixed Plant Structural Integrity Remediation Pilot Program II.

This program of works, which will run until early 2029, focusses on strengthening the structural integrity of key facilities at three major Rio Tinto sites: Paraburdoo, Marando, and Western Turner Syncline.

The framework of this program represents a new approach from our valued customer, Rio Tinto, issuing long term programs of work with trusted partners. The contract award followed an eight month long tender negotiation and is a testament to Monadelphous’ strong reputation and reliable performance with Rio Tinto.

Awarded in February 2025, the program involves a combination of blasting and painting corroded structures, welding compensation plates on damaged members, and replacing specific structural components.

Pre-Contracts Manager, Rafferty Fox shared that this project would continue to strengthen Monadelphous' relationship with Rio Tinto.

"The project is a great opportunity for us to showcase our expertise and deliver exceptional results. Our dedicated project team, with extensive structural integrity experience, is ready to exceed the customer’s expectations in terms of safety and quality," Rafferty explained.

"Starting strong at Paraburdoo will set us up for success as we roll out the work at Marando and Western Turner Syncline.”

“It’s a great platform to showcase our reliability and expertise, which will ultimately lead to more opportunities for the future.”

“A special shout out to Irwin, Prashant and the Tom Price team for their hard work and strong relationship with the customer to secure this contract.”

The project is due to kick things off at the Paraburdoo site in August.

With this project, Monadelphous is not only ensuring a steady flow of work for its core team but also continuing to strengthen its relationship with Rio Tinto.
