January Northern Star Achievement

Congratulations to Mitch Newby-Butt and Colin Sindall who have shone in the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) space for the Coastal & West Pilbara project teams, earning them the January Northern Star Achievement Award.

From the get-go, Mitch and Colin have been relentless in their efforts to propel the E&I teams forward, setting a benchmark for dedication and excellence.

Their performance is exemplified by their successful completion of the Brockman 2 GTU’s Project, where they not only demonstrated efficiency but also upheld impeccable quality standards. While assisting with that project, they've also been laying the groundwork for the E&I scope for both Cape Lambert and Tom Price Pack 2 GTU projects.

Beyond project execution, Mitch and Colin have been instrumental in crafting new documentation, proactive onboarding of new employees, and strategising for long-term success, showcasing their forward-thinking approach.

Special thanks to Joel Stringer, previous winner of the award, for his invaluable support along the way.

January Safety Champion

In a display of mindfulness and proactive safety measures, Dampier's Team 4 Scaffolders have earnt the January Safety Champion award.

While gearing up to construct a scaffold deck on Reclaimer 3P, the team astutely noticed a significant buildup of materials directly above their work zone, potentially posing a hazard of falling objects.

Demonstrating their adherence to safety protocols, the team promptly utilised their stop work authority and voiced their concerns to their supervisor. The supervisor, embodying a culture of teamwork and inclusion, rallied the team together to brainstorm potential solutions. The Client was informed of the situation and to ensure safety of our team, a decision was made that the job would no longer proceed and that it would be rescheduled to a later date.

In a commendable decision prioritising safety above all else, the team, in consultation with the client, opted to postpone the task until conditions could be made safer. This incident underscores the Monos commitment to safety - "The Safe Way is the Only Way."
