Maintenance at Cape Lambert – Excellence in contract delivery

Monadelphous have been executing maintenance work at Cape Lambert since 2006, which demonstrates our capacity to consistently meet and surpass customer expectations over a long period of time.

At Cape Lambert, we work across three primary disciplines; the mechanical maintenance team, responsible for executing works during major plant shutdowns every 13 weeks; the scaffold team, which operates across both Cape Lambert Port A and Port B; and the idler team, operating under the belts and cranes department, which oversees the upkeep and maintenance of all conveyor idlers on site.

Superintendent Mark Fitzgerald acknowledged the Cape Lambert maintenance team’s ability to demonstrate excellence and deliver value to customers week after week, across the entirety of its operations.

"We undertake maintenance on every piece of equipment on site, from the car dumpers to the stockyard's reclaimers and stackers, the processing plants and screenhouses, all the way to the wharf and the ship loaders," Mark stated.

He attributed part of the team’s success to its ability to collaborate closely with the customer, along with the outstanding efforts of numerous individuals over many years.

"Throughout our extensive collaboration with the customer, we have become an integral part of their teams," he remarked. "They appreciate the benefits we provide and our commitment to honesty and values."

"We enhance the reliability of our rostered teams and offer a straightforward avenue to access additional labour when needed," he added. "We are fortunate to have skilled personnel who have been on site for over a decade, contributing valuable knowledge and experience across all teams and leadership levels."

Mark emphasised that cultivating a high-performing team requires a unique blend and finding the right balance, with community involvement being a crucial component.

"Over time, our professional relationships have evolved into genuine friendships extending beyond the workplace, as some team members participate in community and sporting events like the Indoor Cricket Competition," he noted.
