Managing Director's Brief
Zoran Bebic
In August, we held a very special event in Karratha to celebrate the official opening of our new Gap Ridge facility, our largest integrated workshop.
Joined by our Board Chair, Rob Velletri, members of our Executive and Senior Management Teams, and the City of Karratha’s Deputy Mayor, Councillor Daiva Gillam, we were very proud to share the opening event with our local team and long-term local customers, Rio Tinto and Woodside, to mark this important milestone for us in the Pilbara.
Our investment in this new facility is significant for Monadelphous, demonstrating our long-term commitment to the region. We have a huge presence in the broader Pilbara region where more than 4,000 Monadelphous people work each day, with approximately 350 of our people living locally in Karratha. In the last five years alone, we have invested well over $30 million in Karratha with local service providers and suppliers, investing back into the community that has supported us for so long.
The official opening of the Gap Ridge facility was also an important reminder of our former Chairman, the late John Rubino, who led the project from its outset. For those who knew John, you’ll know he was extremely passionate about Monadelphous expanding our footprint in the Pilbara and maintaining an ongoing connection to the community and presence in the region. Our facilities play an important role in supporting this enduring legacy.
I am so proud of our new facility and am looking forward to the beginning of an exciting new era for us in Karratha.
